- 2 slices rye bread
- salted buttersoftened
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp American mustard
- 4 slices pastrami
- 2 slices swiss cheese
- 3 tbsp sauerkrautdrained
- 3 Little Gemleaves separated
- a few cornichonsto serve

Method
step 1
Spread the slices of bread with butter, then the mayonnaise over one slice and the mustard over the other. Pile the pastrami over the mustard side, then add the cheese and sauerkraut. Pile over the lettuce, then sandwich with the mayonnaise-covered side. Skewer everything in place with a cocktail stick, and a few cornichons if you fancy.
