Cover the steaks in a small layer of oil and season both sides with salt and pepper.
Heat a frying pan to a medium-high heat and cook the steaks for around 3 mins on each side adjusted longer or shorter for your desired doneness and then rest for at least 5 mins.
Pour boiling water over four rice noodles nests, covering them, leave to stand for 3 mins and drain.
