    Method

    • step 1

Beat the eggs, milk, and cinnamon together. Whisk until well blended.
    • step 2

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing bread to soak up some of the mixture.
    • step 3

Melt some butter (or use vegetable oil) over a large skillet on medium high heat. Add as many slices of bread onto the skillet as will fit at a time. Fry until brown on both sides, flipping the bread when necessary.
    • step 4

I prefer to serve with golden syrup.

We love the savoury French Toast but no to a sweet version, not for us.

I made this today and it was lovely but I doubled the milk, egg and cinnamon for my 2 slices of bread and added pinch of salt too. Left both slices to soak it all up and then cooked on a low-med heat into golden all over

This was a very simple and tasty recipe! Although two eggs would taste better with the bread!

I serve French toast occasionally for breakfast, as a savoury, with grated mature cheese on top, and a second layer of French toast on top like a Sandwich.

Quick and tasty! I served mine with a bit of cinnamon sugar.
