Make this Japanese-style barbecue sauce to serve with crispy tofu, katsu chicken or your favourite Japanese dishes – it's a great blend of sweet and savoury

- 1½ tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauceor vegan alternative
- 1 tbsp tamari soy or dark soy sauce
- 2 tsp oyster sauce (vegan, if needed)or brown sauce
- 1 tbsp date syrupor honey
- 2 tsp muscovado sugar
- 1 tbsp ground white sesame seeds(optional)

Method
step 1
Put all the ingredients in an airtight jar or container, then mix well until combined. Taste for seasoning, adding more sugar or soy sauce, if needed. Stir in the ground white sesame seeds, if using. Will keep chilled for one month.
