Method

  • step 1

    If the cranberries are fresh, put in a bowl and burst with the end of a rolling pin. Put everything into a sterilised 1-litre sealable flip-top jar. Seal, shake so the sugar dissolves, and leave in a cool, dark place for 24 hrs.

  • step 2

    Strain through a fine mesh sieve, then bottle. Will keep for several months in a cool, dark place. Serve with tonic, or a dash of prosecco.

Hi, it lists vodka in the ingredients.. should this be gin? As it’s called festive pink gin?

No - when you make gin, you start with a neutral spirit like vodka. Adding the botanicals (juniper berries etc) make it into gin.

How many clementines please? And is it just the zest that goes in, or the flesh also...?

Hi, thanks for bring this to our attention. It should be '2 clementines' - we'll update the recipe to show this. And it's just the zest that you use in this recipe. You can either eat the leftover clementine flesh or squeeze the juice to drink. Best wishes, BBC Good Food Team.

I made this on Saturday....bottled on Sunday....its Thursday and there is a bit of a "crust" at the top and a good cm of sediment at the bottom. Is this normal? I made as a gift is there anyway I can clear this? Thanks
