
Confit garlic & thyme baked camembert
Elevate a classic Christmas party starter by adding the flavours of garlic and thyme to baked camembert. Serve with crusty bread for scooping
- 8 garlic cloves
- 2 thyme sprigs
- 150ml olive oil
- 250g baking camembertwith a cross cut into the top

Method
step 1
Heat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Peel the garlic and put in a small baking dish along with the thyme sprigs. Season with a pinch of salt. Pour over the olive oil to cover the garlic (depending on the size of the baking dish, you may need to use more oil.)

Put the camembert in a separate baking dish and bake alongside the garlic for 30 mins. Remove both from the oven and leave to cool for 5 mins. Lift the garlic out of the infused oil in the dish using a fork, and lightly mash (see tip below). Spread the mashed garlic over the camembert, and serve with crusty bread for scooping.
