  • 8oz bacon
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 onions
  • 2 celery sticks
  • 6oz lentils
  • 2 tins chopped tomatoes
  • 2 & 1/2 pints chicken stock

    Method

    • step 1

      Chop onion and celery put in large saucepan
    • step 2

      Grate carrots and add to pan
    • step 3

      Cut up bacon and add to pan
    • step 4

      Rinse lentils well and add to pan
    • step 5

      Add tomatoes and stock then simmer for 1 hour
