Ingredients for the cake

  • 5oz self raising flour
  • 4oz Non salted butter
  • 4oz Caster sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 1 lemon ( Zest )
  • 1 tsp Baking powder

For the glaze

  • 5oz self raising flour
  • 4oz Non salted butter
  • 4oz Caster sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 1 lemon ( Zest )
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • Juice 1 lemon
  • 3oz sugar

    Method

    • step 1

      Preheat the oven to 160 fan/gas 5
    • step 2

      Crease your pan and lay down baking parchment, then grease the parchment, this makes for a clean finish.
    • step 3

      Add all of your cake ingredients and mix thoroughly.
    • step 4

      Add the batter into the well greased tin and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown
