Base
- 1.5 cups rolled oats
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 90 g butter
Filling
- 1.5 cups rolled oats
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 90 g butter
- 3-4 apples
Topping
- 1.5 cups rolled oats
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 90 g butter
- 3-4 apples
- 1/3 cup soft brown sugar
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 1/3 cup walnuts
Method
step 1
Process all ingredients for the base briefly in a food processor, then spoon into a greased round pie dish and flatten with a fork.step 2
Cut apples in half and remove cores, cut into eighths then process (including skin) until roughly chopped. (If you don't have a food processor you can grate them instead.) Spread over the base.step 3
Process the topping briefly then sprinkle over the apple.step 4
Bake for 20-30 mins at 180°C or microwave for 8-10 mins on high.step 5
Serve with cream, custard or icecream.
