  • 225g self raising flour
  • 50g butter
  • 100 ml milk

    Method

    • step 1

      Put the flour in a bowl and add the butter, cut into pieces
    • step 2

      Rub the butter into the flour until it looks like breadcrumbs
    • step 3

      Add enough milk to make a soft dough
    • step 4

      Roll the dough onto a lightly floured surface until 1-1.5 cm thick
    • step 5

      Cut the scones and place on a baking tray
    • step 6

      Bake at 200°, gas mark 6, 180°(fan oven) for 10-15 minutes until golden brown
