Method

  • step 1

    Oil an 18cm cake tin and preheat the air fryer to 200C. Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Crack the egg into a jug and whisk with the milk.

    Create a well in the centre of the flour, then add the milk mixture. Stir until just combined. Pour a quarter of the batter into the prepared tin, starting from the outside in, so there isn’t too much batter in the centre. Lay over a couple of apple slices and carefully place into the basket of the air-fryer. Cook for 3-4 mins, until golden and a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.

    Keep warm in a low oven while you cook the remaining pancakes. Serve with berries and maple syrup drizzled over the top, or a scoop of ice cream, if you like.
