Dr. Dean and Dr. Ayesha Sherzai have been experts in preventing cognitive decline for more than two decades. Successful authors, speakers, neurologists, and co-directors of the Brain Health and Alzheimer's Prevention Program at Loma Linda University Health, the duo fuse their clinical experience, medical research and community-based preventive medicine to redesign the way we approach brain health. Dean trained as a neurologist and scientist at Georgetown University, with fellowships in neurodegenerative diseases at the National Institutes of Health and UC San Diego, and Ayesha has completed a dual residency in preventive medicine and neurology in Loma Linda, and a two-year fellowship in vascular neurology at Columbia University. Ayesha also attended a culinary arts school and is a chef focusing on creating brain-healthy meals, and is in the process of getting a masters in nutritional epidemiology from Loma Linda University. In 2017, the pair wrote the book, The Alzheimer's Solution: A Breakthrough Program to Prevent and Reverse the Symptoms of Cognitive Decline at Every Age, which asserts that 90% of all Alzheimer’s cases can be prevented. The book provides a comprehensive plan for reversing the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline by looking at nutrition, exercise, stress, sleep, and engagement. Their new book, The 30-Day Alzheimer’s Solution, is out now.
