Judge Vista frying pan summary
Well versed in the world of cookware, Judge’s Vista range includes an unassuming looking non-stick frying pan. This simply designed frying pan is made from stainless steel with an 'Excalibur' non-stick coating.
It’s available in a range of sizes: 24, 26, 28 and 30cm. The pan is dishwasher safe, but the non-stick is very effective so hand-washing will likely suffice for simple frying tasks.

How is the Judge Vista frying pan to use?
This frying pan is nicely balanced. It has an encouraging weight to it but doesn’t tip forward when held or strain the wrist.
The handle is thick and slightly curved. We felt the handle was a little too short for the size of the pan; a couple of extra centimetres would have made tossing ingredients easier. We liked the addition of the exposed crosshead screw, which allows the owner to tighten up the handle when necessary: no wobbly handles here! There is a central channel that runs the underside of the handle, we noticed that food and water can easily become lodged under there, so take time to clean that part out properly.
Although this pan is labelled as oven safe, it can only withstand up to 150C; this is relatively low, so does limit the real versatility of this pan.
Results
Using two tried and tested BBC Good Food recipes: a basic omelette and American pancakes, we put this frying pan to the test.
After a taking a decent two minutes to heat up, we poured our whisked eggs into the pan and instantly lowered the heat. We found the pan responsive to the changes in temperature and were able to easily control the pan. The cooked omelette had a soft and fluffy texture inside and was evenly browned on the outside. Getting the omelette out of the pan proved difficult on account of the high straight walls. We struggled to get our spatula underneath to flip one half over the other, so conceded to flip it onto a plate.
Our American pancakes were brilliantly cooked, if a little thin. They were evenly browned on the first side, but a little patchy on the second. Despite this, they were super fluffy and tasty. We saw the same even browning wherever we placed the pancake on the pan.
Conclusion
The Judge Vista frying pan is a high-quality piece of kitchenware that won’t break the bank. The non-stick coating is effective, but we felt a little restricted by the high, straight walls. All foods tested in the pan were well cooked.
It’s available in a good range of sizes and the fact that its dishwasher safe is a real plus. It’s only oven safe to 150C, so not quite as versatile as some other frying pans we’ve tested, but if you’re not bothered by hob-to-oven cooking, then this is a great option.
