Pros

  • Eco-friendly reminder not to reboil, good value, quick

Cons

  • Lid a little fiddly on occasion

Breville Edge Still Hot Kettle summary

This kettle is sleekly good looking. It’s mostly stainless steel, with some contrasting grey elements such as the handle. There’s a pull-off lid which makes for easy filling and the water gauge – marked in cups – is particularly clear and easy to see.

The big USP of this kettle is its water temperature indicator light, which shows when the boiled water falls below 80C. It's an excellent way to prove to the family member who initially turns down a cuppa then decides they want one five minutes later that reboiling the kettle isn't needed.

Results

This kettle is a speedy worker, boiling a litre of water at around 2 minutes 7 seconds. We also liked the little white light on the switch to show it is on.

We did find the lid occasionally fiddly to fit back on the kettle, having to try a couple of times before it slotted into place
