Can I replace the sugar with sweetener?

Hi, I'm afraid we haven't tried this with sweetener instead of sugar. Whilst it is possible to make ice cream with sweetener, you may need to play around with different types and quantities as it could affect the freezing point of the ice cream (this could make it too hard and icy, or too soft).…

Can we use original sugar

Hi, caster sugar is best as it will dissolve easily into the milk. If all you have is granulated sugar then you can certainly try it, but it might be a bit grainy. Best wishes, BBC Good Food Team.
