Ingredients
- vegetable oil or corn oil
- 1 large aubergine
- 1 heaped cup of gram flour
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1tsp garam masala
Method
- STEP 1Put oil on to heat first
- STEP 2In a bowl, sift the gram flour
- STEP 3Add the red chilli powder, cumin, salt and garam masala. Mix well
- STEP 4Add enough water to make the batter a medium consistency
- STEP 5Wash the aubergine, top and tail, slice thinly
- STEP 6Dip each slice into batter, so it is coated evenly, then place carefully into the oil. Cook until golden brown.
- STEP 7Serve with mint youghurt
- STEP 8This snack can be eaten on its own or served with biryani :)
