  • 1 tin condensed milk
  • 20 digestive biscuits (crushed into crumbs)

5 tbsp dessicated coconut - plus extra for decorating

  • 5 tbsp drinking chocolate (I use Cadbury - not instant)
  • 75g butter

    Method

    • step 1

Melt the butter gently in a pan, and when completely melted, remove from heat.
    • step 2

Stir in the condensed milk until completely mixed, and stir in chocolate and coconut, again until completely mixed.
    • step 3

Stir in the crushed biscuits, about a quarter at a time. This makes it easier. Also, keep an eye on the mixture. If it is too stiff, don't add all of the biscuits, if it's too loose, add a couple more. You should be able to roll it into balls.
    • step 4

Roll into balls, makes around 24 bitesize balls but you can make them any size you like. Roll in the extra coconut and leave to set.

Easy but very sticky to shape. So I used two spoons to size the portions, then dropped them onto the coconut before shaping. Now easy!

Very tasty and look impressive in a gift box.

It is very sticky so what I do is I put a little water on my hands every time I touch the truffle so I don’t get my hands all sticky maybe you could try it ( not in a mean way)

    tip

After the truffles were put in the fridge to chill, I re-rolled them after roughly 1h 30mins after initial placement to avoid flattened truffles

    tip

If they're flattening when forming, leave in the fridge until the mixture stiffens up. This is not due to a wet mixture, it is usually caused by a warm mixture. Avoid handling them too long as well.
