  • half cup of butter
  • half cup of soft light brown sugar
  • half cup of caster sugar
  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 1 1/4 cups of oats
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 100g chocolate (whatever kind you like)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

    Method

    • step 1

      cream butter and sugars, preheat oven to 180 degrees and line two baking trays with baking paper
    • step 2

      add egg and beat vigorously
    • step 3

      in another bowl add flour to oats and baking powders
    • step 4

      add chocolate and add to butter and egg mixture
    • step 5

      beat together
    • step 6

      roll into 2cm balls and space about 5cm apart
    • step 7

      place in the oven for 8-10 minutes
    • step 8

      take out and leave in the tray for 2 minutes then transfer to cooling rack
    • step 9

      now enjoy!!

    Missing temp, we used 180c. Missing details on the chocolate - we broke it into chunks before mixing in.

    Love this recipe and have been using it for years! Bake for 8 min for chewy cookies. The only thing is that it is missing is adding the vanilla extract to the eggs and butter in the method - don’t forget that and enjoy
