First impressions of the Kenwood MultiPro Express Weigh+ food processor

The Kenwood MultiPro Express Weigh+ comes in a huge box, with three layers of machinery, jugs and a vast amount of accessories. But, the packaging is mostly eco-friendly, with only a few plastic bags for extra protection. A comprehensive but long-winded manual covers several Kenwood models in one, so it can be a little confusing to interpret.

The food processor itself isn't heavy, but the large Express Serve bowl, lid and chute is a bit unwieldy, given its purpose to grate, slice and dice directly into a bowl, pan or serving plate – this does, however, save on washing-up the food processor bowl.

There’s a citrus juicer as well, along with five slicing and grating discs, an express dicer and two blades: one for chopping and one for dough. There's also a geared whisk, 3-litre processor bowl, 1.5-litre glass blending jug, spatula storage bag for most of the accessories.

How easy is the Kenwood MultiPro Express Weigh+ food processor to use?

With a 1000-watt motor, the Kenwood packs a punch when it comes to speed and ease of use. It's noisier than most processors on test, but not unpleasantly so. Grating, slicing and mixing tasks produce excellent results across all the vegetables, cheeses and pizza dough on test. Our pesto and basa gede suffers slightly in the large jug, and are better in the blender. Dicing, however, is difficult and uneven, unless you cut chunks of potato away, which feels wasteful.

Our favourite function of this model is the in-built scales. They're a real bonus, as while making our pastes and doughs, we could measure directly into the jug, saving time and the need for any other equipment taking up space on our busy work surface.

Conclusion

All round, the Kenwood MultiPro is an excellent food processor and blender that almost anyone will find extremely useful in the kitchen, thanks to its range of time-saving accessories. The processor does take up some space with all its bit and pieces, but if you have a sizeable kitchen and lots of cupboard or drawer space, this is a machine that's well worth having.
