Method

  • step 1

    Stir the vodka, dry vermouth and a little ice together or put them in a cocktail shaker to combine.

  • step 2

    Strain into a chilled martini glass. Serve with an olive on a cocktail stick or a twist of lemon peel.

Excellent. Chill the glasses first. I used a 3:1 ratio ie 20ml of Noilly.

And shaken is incorrect, you never shake cocktails with 2 spirits. Only ever stir. it was James Bond that messed that up.

Martinis should be gin. Vodka is a big joke. It has never been part of the cocktail scene. It’s for rooks.
