Method

  • step 1

Mix the chilli sauce with the lime zest and juice, and fish sauce to make the dressing.

  • step 2

Arrange the lettuce in a large salad bowl. Toss all the remaining ingredients with the dressing just before you are ready to eat, to keep everything crisp and fresh, then add to the lettuce.

Hi BBC, could you please take the word “Thai” off the description of this recipe? There is nothing Thai about it and isn’t found anywhere in Thailand. This is cultural appropriation plain and simple. Thanks.

Delicious, quick and easy- my favourite kind of recipe! Served 2 of us as a main course, along with baked soy and chinese 5 spice pork belly slices (definitely wouldn’t stretch to 4 unless you have a couple of other dishes on the go). Will definitely be making this salad again.

I made this last night (minus the fish sauce) and it worked really well. I just balanced up the lime juice and chilli sauce by adding a bit more chilli sauce. I julienned the carrots and sliced the radish really, really thin through a mandolin. It was scrummy though :-) will definately make again…

Agree this serves 2, but lovely with griddled chicken with a lime, chilli and coriander marinade

Tried this & agree with below just a two person portion. I chose to grate my carrot & radishes instead. Great with Asian or spicy food, we had it with a wrap.
