Method

  • step 1

    Heat oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato chips with oil and soy sauce. Transfer to a shallow roasting tin and season with black pepper and nutmeg, if you like. Bake for 30-40 mins, until crisp.

Only used 1 x sweet potato (a whopper), and it was more than enough for 2 of us. So simple and delicious!

These can be done on a baking tray, but remember to turn them half way through. Also, soy sauce is optional. I prefer them simply seasoned with salt and pepper.

I coated my chips with rice bran oil (nice light oil, with very little taste so doesn't influence the taste of the food it's oiling) ground some black pepper, sea salt and a nice pinch of Bart's creole seasoning and cooked on 225C for 35 minutes. They were so good i'm tempted to go and make some…

Got these currently baking in the oven. Had to switch the soy sauce for rock salt as I didn't have any. Also added some chilli flakes, because I like a bit of heat!
