Method

  • step 1

Place all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl and whisk together. The sauce can be used to stir fry vegetables, meat, fish and noodles.

  • step 2

To use the sauce, heat the oil in a wok, then add your choice of meat, vegetables or fish. Fry for a minute over a high heat to seal, and then add the stir fry sauce, before continuing to stir-fry for a further four minutes or so until the ingredients are fully cooked. Serve immediately.

Way too salty as others have said

question

You say add soy sauce. Is this light or dark soy sauce?

I found this overwhelmingly salty, to the point it almost made my meal inedible. Perhaps it depends on the ratio of sauce to veg/protein. Next time I try it I'm going to use a more equal ratio of soy and agave syrup (which I used instead of honey).

This is a lovely sauce, simple to make but very tasty without being overwhelming. I included the chilli flakes.

Is it just me or is it very salty. I suspect the quantity of soy sauce is the suspect.

I added a bit of water then to mellow it then during cooking a bit of cornflour (premixed with boiling water so not lumpy) during cooking so the sauce wasn’t too think.
