Method

  • step 1

Heat grill to medium high. Cut a deep cross in the top of each fig then ease the top apart like a flower. Sit the figs in a baking dish and drop a small piece of the butter into the centre of each fruit. Drizzle the honey over the figs, then sprinkle with the nuts and spice.

  • step 2

Grill for 5 mins until figs are softened and the honey and butter make a sticky sauce in the bottom of the dish. Serve warm, with dollops of mascarpone or yogurt.

RECIPE TIPS
MAKE IT FROM THE STORECUPBOARD

Swap the figs for canned peaches or pears.

MAKE IT BOOZY

Splash a few tbsp of armagnac or brandy over the fruit before grilling.

Absolutely amazing! 3 teaspoons of honey to 1 teaspoon of butter. A good dusting of cinnamon and into the air fryer they went to bake for 7 minutes. You are left with perfect soft dogs and a heady syrup sauce to go with them!

Really nice. I did a half and half mix of marscapone and greek yoghurt to which I added some extra honey and some vanilla bean essence. Yum.
