Method

  • step 1

Tip the oats into a pan and pour in the soya milk. Stir over a medium heat for 5-8 mins until the oats are cooked and the mixture thickens slightly. Pour into two bowls and allow to cool for a few minutes to thicken further.

  • step 2

Smooth the yogurt over the top to completely cover the porridge, then top with the oranges, nuts, chocolate and cinnamon.

Recipe tip

Don’t be tempted to remove all the pith from the oranges – it’s loaded with fibre, vitamin C and immune-supportive flavonoids.

Nuts gave a good crunch and orange gave some much needed sweetness but it needed something else to make it a little sweeter.

500 mL of milk was more than enough

question

Is the amount of milk accurate?

Also there's no measurement for the yogurt, yet this is surely included in the nutritional information?

Hi, thanks for your question. Yes the amount of milk is correct. You'll need 2 x 120g pots bio yogurt or soya yogurt (this should now be showing on the recipe above). We hope this helps. Best wishes, BBC Good Food Team.

New breakfast favourite! Loved the orange and dark chocolate combination with cold Joghurt and creamy oats…delicious! Like others have stated - use less milk.

Far too much milk (I just went with how much I'd normally have for porridge) but other than that, this is delicious!

question

Can I use anything else instead of oranges for this recipe?

Hi, thanks for your question. Yes you can use almost any fruit you like. Berries would go particularly well with the chocolate. We hope this helps. Best wishes, BBC Good Food Team.
