Method

  • step 1

Mix icing sugar with peppermint extract and enough water to make a thick icing. Spread the icing over cookies and create a border around the edges using sweets and sprinkles. Leave for 10 mins for the icing to set. Then, using an icing pen, write a guest’s name in the centre of each cookie. When the icing is dry, wrap in cellophane and tie up with a pretty ribbon.

question

Would it still be OK if I replaced the peppermint extract with rum/ vanilla essence? Thank you!

Thanks for your question. We'd suggest vanilla as a good alternative.

This isn't really a recipe, is it? If the ingredients contain "4 large cookies"!

This can be done with any biscuit. Today we stuck 2 digestives together with choc/hazelnut spread then decorated with whatever was in the cupboard. Messy but fun, a great laugh.
