Method

  • step 1

    Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of simmering water. Once melted, add the remaining ingredients.

  • step 2

    Roll into walnut-size balls with your hands and pop into the fridge on a plate to chill and set. Once set, roll in cocoa or icing sugar. Will keep in the fridge for 1 week.

do you have to use the condensed milk or can you just use normal milk?

Thanks for your question. It will change the recipe quite a lot to if you replace the condensed milk for ordinary milk as it is thinner and not sweetened. We think that it would spoil the recipe to take it out and haven't tested the recipe using normal milk so cannot guarantee perfect results.

Everybody loved these. I used Greens Zesty Orange Cake mix instead of Madeira which gave it a unique taste, and coated in cocoa. I might try dark chocolate next time as vickyeds mentions. Very easy.

These were a huge success..very rich but very welled received by all. I changed the chocolate for dark chocolate with chilli and coated them in white chocolate and desicated coconut..will definitely do these again!
