Method

  • step 1

    Pour the gin, lemon juice, vodka or crème de menthe and bitters into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until the outside of the shaker feels very cold.

  • step 2

    Double-strain the drink into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a mini candy cane, if you like (see tip, below).

Recipe tip

Garnish with a candy cane, or combine 1 crushed candy cane with a pinch of sea salt flakes, tip onto a shallow plate and dip the dampened rim of the glass into the mixture to decorate. Pour in the cocktail and serve immediately.

Do you think I could make these up in jars to give out so people could just add ice? Would they last or do they need to be served straight away and not left?

Hi, thanks for your question. I'm afraid we haven't tested making these up in advance, although there's no reason why not. They might separate a little but can be given a quick stir or shake if so. Ideally test one in advance to make sure it hold up well to being made in advance. We hope this helps.…
