Turkey burgers with beetroot relish
These low-fat burgers freeze well, so why not make double and freeze for another time?
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tsp fine cornmeal or polenta
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp garlicpowder
- 2 large potatoescut into 1cm-thick chips

Method
step 1
Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Pour the oil onto a baking tray and put in the oven for 3 mins. Mix the cornmeal or polenta, paprika and garlic powder together and season. Toss the chips in the mix, then tip onto the tray. Shake well, then cook for 40 mins, shaking halfway through, until crisp and golden.

The recipe states these fries can be frozen - at what point would your freeze them?

Yep, this is the one! Guaranteed crispy fries! The polenta did the job. I went with microwaving it for 3 minutes before baking as well. Much quicker cooking time.

These are so good that for the first time I bother writing a review! There will be no coming from this recipe after many many disappointing attempts at other ones. I think the key is the hot oil and the polenta, so perfect and yet so easy!!!

Wish I'd come across this recipe sooner - great way to make health-conscious but tasty fries! Only thing is that 40 + mins is quite long if you are a bit short of time, so to speed up the process I microwave the potatoes after I've cut them into chips for about 3 mins, then follow the rest of the…

These are very simple to make and taste great! I left the skins on for that added crispness, and let them bake for slightly longer than the recipe states as they weren't quite done after 40mins. Served them along side the Ultimate Makeover Beef Burgers, also on this site. A perfect side dish.
