Cut the avocado in half and carefully remove its stone, then scoop out the flesh into a bowl. Squeeze in the lemon juice then mash with a fork to your desired texture. Season to taste with sea salt, black pepper and chilli flakes. Toast your bread, drizzle over the oil then pile the avocado on top.

I made a few changes to the basic recipe which, for me, really improved the taste:

1. I added a poached egg. 2. I swapped the avocado for a slice of fried black pudding. 3. I swapped the toast for fried bread. 4. I slathered it in HP sauce.

It’s a complete game changer.

I followed your changes except for the fried bread. You're right. That's the best avocado on toast recipe ever. Well done.

This made for an awesome lunch. I spread it on toasted sourdough and added a poached egg. Beautiful 👌

I love this recipe. Make it x2 Avocados, x1 Whole Lemon Juiced, an extra tea spoon of chilli flakes and x4 slices of toasted sourdough bread 🥰❤️ lol.

This tasted a little bland. But I would still say it was good. I try to avoid spicy stuff for breakfast as it burns my stomach for the rest of the day.

Try adding more Lemon juice and another pinch of chilli flakes. When I have this I normally have it as an easy (& healthy) dinner instead of breakfast.
