- 1 litre dry cider
- 500ml apple juice
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 thumb-sized piece of gingerpeeled and sliced
- 1 tbsp cardamom podscrushed open
- 1 cinnamon stickplus extra to serve (optional)
- 1 large orangezest pared into strips
- 1 applesliced, to serve (optional)

Method
step 1
Pour the cider and apple juice into a large saucepan. Add the remaining ingredients, bring to a very low simmer and cook gently for 30 mins. Turn off the heat and leave to infuse for 3 hrs. When ready to serve, warm the mulled cider through for a few minutes before ladling into heatproof glasses with slices of apple and cinnamon sticks, if you like.
