Competition rules

Good Food Cook the Cover competition 2024

1. The Promoter is Immediate Media Company London Limited (company number 06189487).

2. The promotion is open to all residents of the UK, including the Channel Islands, aged 18 years or older, except the Promoter’s employees or contractors and anyone connected with the promotion or their direct family members.

3. The closing date for entries is 23:59 on 30 September 2024

4. By entering the promotion, the participants agree: a. to be bound by these terms and conditions; and b. that should they win the promotion, their name and likeness may be used by the Promoter for pre-arranged promotional purposes.

5. Entrants should enter by cooking any recipe from the Good Food September 2024 issue and posting a photo of the meal on either Instagram or Facebook. Entrants must tag the @GoodFoodeveryday profile and use the hashtag #GFCookTheCover to enter. Entries must be your own original creation and photograph. Entries received after the closing date of the promotion will not be considered.

6. If your entry includes images of any other individuals (e.g. family members, friends), you agree to confirm with those individuals that their details and/or image (as applicable) will be used by the Promoter for the purposes set out in these Terms and Conditions. You should avoid submitting entries containing images of individuals under the age of 18. If you choose to do so, you agree to obtain the consent of the child’s parent or guardian to use the child’s data in this way before submitting your entry.

7. Entrants must supply to Immediate their Instagram or Facebook account handle and the winner will need to supply their contact address for dispatch of the prize. The Promoter will use entrants’ personal details in accordance with the Immediate Privacy Policy (immediatemedia.co.uk/privacy-policy).

8. Only one entry will be permitted per person, regardless of method of entry. Bulk entries made by third parties will not be permitted.

9. One winner will receive: (a) 1x £100 voucher, redeemable at one of the supermarket stores listed on the highstreetvouchers.com website; (b) 1x Cooks professional sauté pan set, 4.5 litre with glass lid (from https://www.cooksprofessional.co.uk/product/saute-pan-with-glass-lid/); and (c) 1x Good Food magazine subscription valid for one year from a date requested by the winner.

10. The Promoter does not claim any rights of ownership in your competition entry. By submitting your photo, you: a. agree that the Promoter may make your photo available to view on the Good Food website (https://www.bbcgoodfood.com) (the “Website”), the Good Food Instagram account and/or the Good Food Facebook account at any time; and b. hereby grant the Promoter, its agents and partners a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in your photo, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-licence your photo (alongside your first name) on any channels (including their websites and social media channels) in connection with the “Good Food Cook the Cover” competition. The Promoter is under no obligation to feature your entry on the Website, or its social media channels, or in any other format.

11. The winning entrant will be the first entry drawn at random from all the eligible entries after the closing date. The Promoter’s decision as to the winner is final and no correspondence relating to the promotion will be entered into. The Promoter may share the details of the winner with the prize provider for the purposes of fulfilling/delivering the prize.

12. The winner will be notified within 2 days of the close of the promotion by direct message. If this is not possible, the winner will be notified by response to their comment on the Good Food Instagram or Facebook account. If a winner cannot be contacted, or fails to respond to the comment from Good Food within 7 days of such notification being sent, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the winner’s prize to a runner up, or to re-offer the prize in any future promotion.

13. There is no cash alternative and the prize will not be transferable. Prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of the same or greater value.

14. The surname and county of residence of the winner will be available upon request by sending an SAE to Good Food Cook the Cover competition, Vineyard House 44 Brook Green, London, W6 7BT within two months of the closing date of the promotion. The Promoter will contact the winner before releasing this information and provide the winner the opportunity to object or limit the amount of information shared.

15. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or to cancel, alter or amend the promotion at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of its control.

16. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility for lost, delayed or fraudulent entries.

17. The Promoter excludes liability to the full extent permitted by law for any loss, damage or injury occurring to the participant arising from his or her entry into the promotion or occurring to the winner arising from his or her acceptance of a prize.

18. Your details are being collected and used by the Promoter, not by the social media platform. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with any social media platform. By entering this promotion you agree to release the host social media platform of any liability.

19. The promotion is subject to the laws of England.
