Method

  • step 1

    Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Scatter porridge oats and nuts on a baking sheet. Cook for 8-10 mins or until lightly golden.

  • step 2

    Remove and cool, then mix with fruit and cereal. Serve with skimmed milk or fat-free yogurt.

Easy, good for you and tasty - what's not to like? I like a mix of walnuts (black walnuts if I can get them) and hazelnuts, with apples and raisins for the fruit, though currants are good too. I like it with milk and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup on top.
