  • 100g Custard Powder
  • 200g Softened Butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 140g Caster Sugar
  • 100g self raising flour
  • TO ICE THE BUNS
  • 150g Icing sugar
  • hundards and thousands

    Method

    • step 1

      Heat the oven to 180C/160C fan and place 12 paper cases inoi a muffin tray.
    • step 2

      Beat the custard powder with the butter eggs and milk, then stir in the suagr and fold in the sifted flour. Spoon into the cases.
    • step 3

      Make for 20 mins. Leave to cool completley.
    • step 4

      Mix the icing sugar with about 3 tbsp water to form a thick paste.

    Brilliant recipe, enjoyed by both kids and adults. I used a packet of Birds Instant Custard and the texture is perfect!

    Followed recipe exactly. Mixture curdled and when cooked had a solid stodgy layer at bottom. Tastes nice though.

    My friend made these and gave me one to try - I was quite impressed by them. Nice flavour, almost almondy, and the most gorgeous yellow colour. I'm going to make them myself soon!
